This Friday we have a super special treat for you - an in-depth interview with Jon Cooper by Catherine Brooks. In this talk, we learn about the dramatic changes in warfare that were happening during the Tudor period and how defensive fortifications had to change. Jon focuses on trace italienne fortifications as used, but now lost, at Haddington. It's a wonderful talk, thank you to both!

I thought my ancestor Antony Pettyt was the engineer for the English. He was captured by the French/Scots but the commander, Grey, was able to negotiate an exchange for him. He was later caught again in Calais and killed by the French.
