The Tudor Society

Mary Queen of Scots in Edinburgh – Emma Casson

Claire will carry on with her look at medieval skincare and cosmetics in next week's Claire Chats, but this week we have a special video from Tudor Society member Emma Casson. Emma shows us around the places in Edinburgh that Mary, Queen of Scots would have known. Emma is a 19-year-old journalism student, self-taught history fan and is working as an intern at a Dutch royalty magazine. She lives in the Netherlands and organised, researched, planned and recorded this video as part of her media course at university. Her team of videographers flew to Scotland specifically to record this video, and it's turned out brilliantly as she is a natural presenter and English isn't even her first language.

Brilliant presentation! I would never have known the English wasn’t your first language. I was in Scotland last month. My second trip to Edinburgh, but my first visit to Holyrood House, and it’s wonderful! Now I must go back in order to visit some of the other places you showed us. Thank you for sharing!
