Anne Boleyn Experience 2019 – Day 4

Today was our final full day on the Anne Boleyn Experience tour 2019 - sob!

After a delicious breakfast (Full Hever Breakfast plus a naughty Danish pastry!), it was time to hit the road. Our luxury coach, driven by the very friendly Alan, took us from Hever, which is nestled in the Kent countryside, up to London and the incredible building that is Her Majesty's Royal Palace and Fortress of the Tower of London.

It was a beautiful sunny day (I managed to get sunburn on my feet!) and just perfect for strolling around the Tower. Our wonderful guide, Alice gave us an excellent tour, giving us a rundown of the history of the Tower of London, before we had free time to explore the parts that were important to us. Philippa and I chose to do the White Tower, as my friend Tara is a warder there and I wanted to say "hi", before we moved on to pay our respects to the three queens and others who were laid to rest in the Chapel of St Peter ad Vincula, and then visited the Beauchamp Chapel, with its Tudor graffiti stone carvings, strolled the wall walk, and then visited the shop.

Before we headed back to the coach, we visited the scaffold memorial on Tower Hill, where I did a talk explaining what happened to the men there on that day in 1536.

After a journey through London and the pretty Kent countryside, we had time to freshen up before dinner. This was the chance to pass around our tour "souvenir" books for everyone to sign and write messages. This tour has flown by - time always flies when you're having fun - but I have so many wonderful memories and I know I have made friends for life.
