Hello, claire. I will be happy to help get the word out any way I can. How about you-tube.? You are on facebook, I believe. I found your books on my kindle and that led me to you and the society. I live in texas. I think magazine advertising would be a great idea. I’m always looking at pbs, the public broadcasting channel in america. They offer lots of historical programs, perhaps you could advertise with them so more people can see it. I try to spread the word as much as I can. I hope these ideas help. Kathy Swartz

The only thing I can think of in addition to the usual outlets such as Twitter, Facebook, U Tube and media, such as History Channel, the Anne Boleyn files, Discovery are magazine adverts such as History Today, History Extra, BBC History…and as many of the association websites as will give you a plug. It really depends on your marketing budget, as of course magazine adverts cost, as do media, as you probably know, but you can always come to a beneficial deal. What about Nerdelicious or the Henry Tudor Society? Hope you find a good slot.

Hi Claire, one thought that comes to mind is do you put details in each of the books which are published by Made Global? I appreciate that not all the books have a Tudor theme but I have read many books and often there is a section, albeit in the back of the book, where there are various websites to look at for more information.
Perhaps you could put a paragraph about the Tudor Society there and even the Anne Boleyn Files website. One could lead to the other.
    Best wishes – Sandra

    Hi Claire and Tim,
I just looked on your Facebook page and you have almost 2,000 “likes” and “follows.” It looks like you post every few days or so…what if all your members here committed to re-posting Tudor Society posts on our walls to help spread the word. Maybe the same for Twitter?

And how about a membership drive? Maybe you could offer either a limited time reduced membership rate or some type of giveaway for joining. I know you offer free downloads with membership which is great, but maybe a small gift of some kind? I realize those types of things cost money…

Could you do some type of advert on Henry Tudor Society? I’m not a member so I don’t know how they operate.

I’m so willing to spread the word. I love and appreciate what you do and will happily help out whenever you decide what we members can do to assist you.

Thanks for trusting us and letting us be a part of your marvelous group!

    Mary

Flyers. Print off flyers. Ask Reenactment Societies to have them at their venues. Ask historical places of interest to have them on their table for the visiting public to pick up, especially places such as Hever, Hampton Court etc. Send them to members to ask on your behalf at historical places around them if they would put some out…send some to me in Scotland, plenty of castles etc around me..Mary Queen of Scots was of Tudor descent,..Tourist Information might have some. Tourists love these places of interest, love the Tudors, l’m sure their interest could make them consider learning more…anyway just a thought, you could always put that in your ‘wacky’ category if it’s a daft idea lol ☺

    Hi, Claire.
I will post a link to the Tudor Society on my Spice Alchemy page.
I’d also very much like to be able to hand out flyers regarding the society at an upcoming medieval faire here in South Australia (Gumeracha Medieval Faire), to be held on the first full weekend in May. If you have a flyer in mind, please email it to me and I’ll print it out for distribution. Dawn Hatswell definitely has the right idea.
I alos believe that a dedicated Tudor Society facebook page would really help boost the society’s visibility within the realm of social media.
Being a tad mercinary, we could always learn from what the Richard III society is doing online and in social media, and do it better!

Thank you! These are brilliant ideas. We do already have a Facebook page for the TS but I could definitely put more work into it.
Rhi, thank you, that would be great and Tim will be in touch.
