Throwback Thursday – Claire at the Alhambra

Tudor History Tours with the Tudor Society

I don't know what it's like where you are, but the weather is rather wet and cold here today so I thought it would be good to transport ourselves to sunnier climes with my Claire Chats video from the Alhambra in Granada, on what was a beautiful day three years ago. I hope you enjoy it.

I mentioned the Capilla Real in the video and you can read an article on this on The Anne Boleyn Files - click here.

This again brought back memories of my two visits to the Alhambra and the Cathedral. I remember how quiet the gardens were compared to the rest of the busy complex of palaces and courtyards. The Moorish architecture is truly stunning and so geometric. The palace of Charles V looks a bit Jacobean, only to me, but then again later generations used classic designs, but the Moors were very unified in their use of architecture. I love their brilliant use of water, and of course in a hot climate, fountains are a blessing as water features cool everything down. Thanks for this video, it was beautiful to see this lovely city again.

I enjoyed your article on the Cathedral also, brought back a lot of memories. Cheers.
