The Tudor Society

Open Weekend Day 2 – We hope you’re enjoying it!

The open weekend kicked off brilliantly yesterday with lots of registrants visiting the site and diving into the archives. We hope you thoroughly enjoyed having a good look around.

Yesterday, we added our usual Friday video talk to the site. This week, Philippa Brewell, our raving reporter, gave us a virtual tour of the beautiful ruins of Wenlock Priory. It really is a stunning place. If you haven't watched it yet, you can click here to see it now. Philippa has just started doing these for us and her first one was on Harvington Hall.

Our bonus December expert talk was also added to the site yesterday. Historian and author Gareth Russell talks about Catherine Howard: Personality and Private Life. It's a wonderful talk and you can click here to view that now.

Gareth is also joining us today in the Tudor Society chatroom at https://www.tudorsociety.com/chatroom/ for a Q&A session.

Here are the times of the chat in different time zones:

Gareth's was a special bonus talk, and you can also enjoy our December Expert talk by Kate Cole on "The Witches of Elizabethan and Stuart Essex" - a fasinating subject.

Do remember to have a look at the December edition of Tudor Life Magazine, the magazine archives, our Expert talk archives, "Claire Chats" video talk archives, and everything else we have to offer here.

And come back tomorrow for our Sunday quiz!

P.S. Today is the Feast of the Immaculate Conception and you can click here to read more about that. It is featured in our Tudor Society Feast Days e-book.
